Description

The role will head the Middle East sub-region for Moody's Investors Service (MIS) Commercial Group, focusing primarily on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Leadership responsibility for the relationship management team handling prospective and existing customers.

The main objective of the role is to develop and execute strategies to build revenue and coverage within the territory.

Strong capital market knowledge and effective professional networking are key drivers to deepening and expanding Moody's presence across the Middle East subregion.- The position is an important leadership role within the EMEA Relationship Management team and the wider MIS Commercial Group.


  • The role:
  • Responsible for management of Middle East MIS Commercial team.
  • Responsible for managing and coaching the team.
  • Overall responsibility for the coordination, design and execution of a strategic business plan for the Middle East territory for each of Moody's fundamental franchises.
  • Owns the business development and account management initiatives for the territory, and will personally own and drive outreach for select tier 1 customers, and manage the team's execution against other tier 1 and tier 2/3 customers.
  • Promote Moody's Fundamental ratings business (i.e. Financial Institutions including Insurance, Corporate Finance, Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Sovereigns and Multilateral Development Banks)
  • Analyse the relevant markets and thoroughly understand the underlying dynamics for all fixed income securities
  • Develop and run extensive outreach programs to target companies and intermediaries. Network intensively and liaise with intermediaries, local industry associations and other stakeholders in the financial markets
  • Expected to spend approximately 30% of time meeting customers, including travelling extensively around the subregion.
  • Representing the subregion in EMEA strategy sessions and team meetings.
  • Define the strategy to increase relevance and reduce the proportion of MISunrated names in the territory
  • Provide input to product needs, ideas, concepts to Product Management.
  • Acts as speaker or facilitator of expert panels in internal and external meetings and conferences.
  • Assist in coordinating marketing research and supporting marketing projects focused on the subregion
  • Provide support to the Head of Relationship Management for the EMEA Region
  • Communicate and negotiate at the highest levels of the customer's corporate hierarchy: e.g. CEO, CFO
  • Discuss the fundamentals of Moody's credit rating methodologies and research during customer commercial engagement
  • Essential:

The primary function of the Relationship Management department is the establishment, maintenance and management of Customer business relationships globally, and regionally throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The EMEA Relationship Management Group's primary objective is to promote Moody's fundamental, structured finance, and managed funds rating services.

The Commercial Group develops and executes marketing programmes and product development initiatives in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in close cooperation regional management, and in parallel to the work of the Ratings and Research Group.

The EMEA region comprises 128 independent countries, including the Eurozone and various important domestic capital markets.
