Description

The purpose of the job is to provide the organization of the Library. The role foresees the management of Library activities in order to provide a high-quality service to students and teachers.

Key purpose of the role

Reference Service - To provide personal assistance to library users seeking information; to arrange one-to-one reference sessions in order to support students in finding resources needed for research projects; to address online and in person enquiries regarding location and retrieval of information relevant for student's needs.

Acquisitions & Bibliographic Service - To maintain online catalogue's records up to date; to assess library resources needs according to the reading lists and liaise with the Digital Resources Librarian to allocate budget in order to purchase the required items; to catalogue new arrivals (books and magazines) on the back end; time to time, to retrospective catalogue existing resources; to barcode and label resources with the relevant shelf-mark.

Material Library - to liaise on the development of the Material Library platform: to research on users' experience in order to define students and tutors needs; to liaise with tutors to identify an effective way to categorise material in the database
