Description
Our client is an environmental technologies company that provides water and wastewater equipment packages and treatment solutions. They are seeking a Project Accountant to support their activities in the Middle East region.

The hired resource is expected to be the point of reference for project staff, management, and the corporate team alike.

He/she will be responsible for all activities around maintaining records of all transactions, processing payments, and following up with receivables.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Cash Management and Bank Reconciliations
Intercompany, Vendor, and Customer Reconciliation
Balance Sheet Schedules Preparation (Prepaid, Accruals, FA Schedules, Provisions)
Payroll Entries.
Liaise with the Finance team to ensure audits are completed promptly and accurately.
Work closely with auditors to prepare and review reports. Collaborate with finance personnel to develop approaches for creating more-accurate financial records and models for the company
File VAT and ESR quarterly and annually.

Work with the Accounts and Finance team to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP principles.
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
Computing standard cost of product/service by collecting production data as well as analyzing past production trends
Performing production variance analysis on a regular basis to identify production discrepancies and accordingly, revise production plans.
Preparing annual budget and forecasting trends
Designing & developing costing & profitability models to be implemented in ERP system.
Understanding of both Time and Material (T&M) and Percent of Completion for Fixed Price revenue recognition type contracts
Assist with Project Setup, Project Monitoring, ERP System updating, and closeout.
Assist with the preparation and update of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) for projects.


Requirement and Qualification:

Proven experience of 7-10 years with similar responsibilities. as a Cost Controller, Project Accountant, Chief or Senior accountant.
A minimum qualification bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. masters degree in finance or business administration or CA with a few years of work experience.
ACCA, CPA, or CA certification

Solid experience in the trading business, coordinating audit activities, and managing reporting, budget development, and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.

A track record in Accounting & Finance management; experience in compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants is essential.

Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team, with foresight and ability to delegate accordingly.
Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in effectively communicating sales-related data, including presentations to senior management, the board, or other outside partners.
Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
Experience in leading and coaching a team and working closely with the Organizations Leadership/Executive teams is essential.
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, ERPs like Dynamics 365, Zoho Books or equivalent
Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
