Description
General Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Chef de Partie to determine quality and quantity of food materials used with a view of eliminating waste and spoilage
- Works exactly according to standard recipes, the guidance and instructions given from the supervisor, to ensure consistency and standards of the product
- Assisting other cooks and sharing the workload in the assigned section
- Assisting the Demi Chef and his subordinates in the preparation and handling of food in the assigned section
- Has knowledge of the menu, the food items and goods handled in the area he is assigned to
- Ensures that sets ups (mise en place) is ready on time and sufficient, according the instructions of the Chef De Partie
- Takes a professional self interest to constantly maintaining a high standard of food preparation
Requirements:
- Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts
- At least 2 years of working experience
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen sanitation
- Preferably with previous relevant experience in the hotel
Experience:
- at least 2 years hotel (required)
Language:
- English fluently (required)
