JOB PURPOSE
Manage the shipment documentations for import, export and free zone transfers. To ensure the customs clearance process is carried out smoothly and in a timely manner.

Perform related activities such as Processing of Bill of Entry from Dubai Customs and document attestation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operations: Coordinate with the concerned parties, shipping/airport agent, seaport/airport authorities, customs officials, inland transport providers and the customer to ensure goods are cleared as per set policies and procedures. Perform verifications for the 3PL transactions in terms of Inbound, Storage and Outbound processes.
  • Inspection Documents: Confirm with the clearing team the completeness of the shipping documents to proceed with clearance. Coordinate with the shipper/supplier the required documents before proceeding with shipment dispatch. Oversee checking of shipment to ensure compliance with Dubai Customs in terms of correct declarations of HS Code and product information.
  • Payment: Monitor and ensure availability of funds in Dubai Customs CDR Account for smooth and uninterrupted issuance of Bill of Entry by timely paying the duties. Coordinate with Finance department on overdue/top up payment to Dubai Customs. Arrange payment request of overdue invoices of 3PL partner, clearing agents, or forwarders to Finance department.
  • Administration: Ensure constant coordination with the clearing team so that shipments do not incur demurrage, detention and storage charges. Communicate with shippers, suppliers in monitoring the shipment movement from origin to destination. Liaise with Dubai Customs and Port Authorities as required for the shipment clearance. Maintain registers and reports for import, export and free zone transfers operations. Job Specific Information
  • Customs Clearance Officer will be closely working with the Clearing team, Suppliers, Principals, Customs officials, Free Zone authorities, Shipping Agents to ensure smooth shipping & customs clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Education Certificate.
  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred.
  • Logistics and Shipping Knowledge
  • Well versed in Online Customs Documentation / Clearances through E-MIRSAL and Dubai Trade Portal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Preferably with UAE Driver's License Experience

EXPERIENCE
2 years of minimum experience in Carriage & Freight function within the automotive industry.
