  • Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose

Perform all activities necessary for a QC Welding Inspection.

Functions

  • Inspect all Industrial maintenance Welding works at offshore Installations and various ADNOC Offshore sites and ensure that all work comply with ADNOC Offshore Specifications and approved Welding procedure.
  • Report to ADNOC Offshore on all matters concerning various stages of inspection work, materials conformity, equipment, compliance with specifications, report concerning, permits, manpower, equipment, WPS / PQR, timing records, specification numbers, welding rod batch numbers etc. Complete tests and inspection, welding & PWHT record and other aspects concerning the job.
  • Inspects contractor equipment, inspection tools, work procedure, welding operations at all areas including vessel internals. Ensure contractors adhere to ADNOC Offshore Safety Regulation.
  • To ensure the technical details including the fitup, bevel edge, root gap, root face, dimensional tolerance etc. are maintained before the start of weld for each job. Examine each weld visually upon completion. Also to ensure welding process, preheat and interpass temperature are in accordance to approved WPS.
  • Review Welding Procedure Specification for all new jobs.
  • Annually conduct welder's qualification test in accordance with company procedure or international standard for welders in
- liaise with the Inspection Engineer and Witnessing WQT as per ASME section IX.
  • Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support
- execution of the Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

  • Qualifications

Welding

  • Certified in American Welding Society (AWS)
  • Welding inspector course or equivalent or CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector (Level-II) TWI.
Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachler Degree [Mechanical Engineering] or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience in Fabrication / Welding field of which at least 5 years' experience as Welding /QC Engineer level in oil related /petrochemical industries.
  • Interpreting Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Mechanical Drawings, etc. as per requirement.
  • To have thorough knowledge about the fabrication principle, materials & fittings of pressure vessels, Tanks, plant piping, hot tapping and structural as complied with the International standard.
  • Understand and interpret the related codes and standards such as ASME 31.3, 16.5, Sec V, VIII & IX, AWS D1.1, API 510 & 570 & etc.
Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.
