Job Purpose:

The Resource & Facilities Controller will manage facilities to ensure cost effective utilization and suitability of accommodation across T1/C1 and T3/C2, T2 and Al Maktoum International Airport for dnata Airport Operations.

The role includes, but is not limited to, managing the outsource support supply, facility health, safety and environment, office moves and renovation, liaison with line department/Manager Facilities & Planning, relationship with DAC, maintenance of facilities, and the control of workspace through the facilities register.

Job Accountabilities
  • Facilitate the provision of operational equipment, including vehicles, communication items and office equipment and supplies, such as telephones, photocopiers, faxes, stationery, within dnata Airport Operations.
Coordinate suitable office and recreational accommodation for all line department staff at Dubai Airports, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations including health and safety.

Liaise with dnata Manager Facilities & Planning to ensure the right infrastructure is in place to support operations providing feedback supported by recommendations for facilities enhancement.


  • Deliver cost effective services, including the maintenance of assets and facilities modifications within agreed budget.
Monitor and control costs through effective resource management of staff, equipment and facilities.

Continually review and monitor expenditure on resources to meet demand fluctuations due to damage, maintenance etc in order to deliver savings against budget and forecasts.


  • Control the stock of motorized and non motorized equipment and ensure that the line department receives a comprehensive report of available equipment to run the operation and of equipment which has been sent for maintenance / repair activities or transferred to other operational areas.
  • Control all equipment maintenance / repair work (Scheduled, Service, Breakdown, and Accident) with dnata Technical Services/Operations services.
Ensure maintenance slots are booked with the workshop, equipment released from operation, repair estimates are received and that work is prioritized based on the availability of replacements and impact to operations.
  • Ensure that close professional relationships are established and maintained with all external contacts, including customer airlines, third party suppliers, Dubai Airport Company and government agencies.
Control the delivery of complex and customized products and services, and be accountable for their effective execution, providing feedback to the line manager on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and manage the service level agreements, quality, reporting accuracy and general account management delivered by the vendor of ground support equipment (GSEs)/assets supplies against the contract, ensuring that service expectations are within budget.
  • Plan, schedule, facilitate and/or participate in meetings with each vendor, as well as in ad hoc special interest sessions in order to maintain the vendor relationship.
  • Coordinate between supplier and internal customer support staff and/or other dnata departments to address any questions or issues raised by the outsource teams and/or review suitability of proposed trial GSEs.
Prepare a monthly update of anticipated program changes that will affect support team and/or prepare monthly performance report of trial GSEs for line management review. Ensure timely updates are provided for any scheduled or unscheduled event that may impact operations.
  • Coordinate in the quality assurance process for purpose of auditing the outsourcers, identify training requirements and ensure that any deficiencies are addressed in a timely manner by the respective department.
Qualifications & Experience: 12 Years schooling or equivalent Experience
  • Airport Operations.
Other 8 + years Knowledge/Skills - It is desirable to be a certified First-Aider or Fire-Warden - Experience in a senior operational position/capacity - Should have successfully completed advanced level courses related to airport operations - Certified quality auditor (IMS)
