Description

The Logistics Coordinator will be required to coordinate and expedite material deliveries to ensure materials are delivered in full, on time, as required for the relevant maintenance activities.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and followup with suppliers to ensure that materials are expedited to the required delivery dates.
  • Ensure that the status of all orders and deliveries is accurately maintained.
  • Liaise with other departments as necessary to ensure continuity of order progress.
  • Develop and update supplier performance measures in key areas of supplier performance.
  • Gather available data to explain requirements against which suppliers progress can be measured.
  • Participate in regular supplier review meetings to discuss performance, delivery schedules and daytoday business issues.
  • Evaluate current methods and procedures to determine if they can be improved.
  • Identify and implement new ways of working that will improve efficiency in the supply chain management processes.
  • Coordinate with the enduser, suppliers and contractors to ensure a smooth flow of goods and services through the supply chain process.
  • Review inventory records to determine what items need to be reordered.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of items at all times without overstocking or understocking stores.
  • Arrange calloff basis deliveries in consultation with endusers for lotted items.
  • Inform the Logistics Manager of any delays in the delivery process and setup meetings with respective endusers and suppliers.
  • Mantain alllogistics Documents and update the rcords in the Maintenance managment system.
  • Prepare reports on upcoming deliveries and send the ipdates to respective teams
  • Communicate upcoming deliveries to warehouse team and ensure suppliers follows the delivery guidelines.
  • Promptly resolve delivery and inventory issues as they arise.
  • Prepare and accurate logistics reports for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate logs relating to transportation activities.
  • Coordinate with logistics vendors for the timely submission of invoices and relevant documents.
  • GRN completion for all services related to logistics and invoice submission to finance for payment processing.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Knowledge and experience in use the of ERP / maintenance management systems (SAP/Maximo) operations would be advantageous, but is not essential.

KEY SKILLS

  • Possess good communication and writing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment.

EXPERIENCES

  • 12 years of experience in supply chain and logistics or other relevant experience.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally a diploma / degree in an engineering, supply chain or management related discipline.
