As the Regional Financial Controller, you will be responsible for all facets of finance operations, including statutory financial reporting, management/investor reporting, audits, budgeting and planning, treasury management, as well as taxation and compliance.

This position is based in Dubai and reports to the Chief Financial officer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage all finance operations, including reporting, planning, revenues to receipt, the expense to pay and tax.
  • Responsible for the overall understanding of end to end finance processes and ensure relevant internal controls are in place to provide management with assurance on the quality of information in the Accounting system.
  • Provide management and oversight for all financial controlling and technical (tax and audit) accounting activities.
  • Provide management and oversight for compliance in tax related matters, ensuring all returns and other statistical information are submitted with high quality on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for implementing the audit framework objectives across the region and managing compliance to the framework.
  • Responsible for the regional accounting, consolidation and tax positions including management of the relevant annual audit process.
  • Engagement with external auditors to ensure smooth flow of information to the audit process and swift resolution of issues.
Treasury Management

  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team and with external clients to manage invoicing and collections in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage payments to local & international suppliers and other disbursements.
  • Manage working capital and liquidity, planning allocation of funds to meet strategic objectives as well as routine operations.

Tax Management:

  • Manage tax compliance of the company in each jurisdiction, with the assistance of the tax consultants where required.

Payroll Management:

  • Review, pay and record the monthly payroll including permanent & casual staff and students and their related social security, tax and insurance payments. Liaise with our thirdparty payroll provider to ensure that employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner.

People Management:

  • Supervise and develop the Accountant to enable timely and accurate financial closing processes.

Requirements:


  • Minimum Qualification: Relevant professional accounting qualification as an ACCA, CA or CPA.
  • Big 4 experience will be a plus.
  • At least 2 years of general finance controlling and/or finance management experience. Experience in financial statements, managing audits, business partnering and statutory advice.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP.
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Any additional European Languages
  • Spanish, German, Italian would be an advantage
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Experience with Odoo and SAP would be highly regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to collaborate actively & effectively on crossfunctional teams
  • Entrepreneurial, with a cando attitude.
  • Experience with tax management (corporate, payroll, etc) and payroll management
  • Experience with cash flow and tax optimization across European markets
  • Ability to work under pressure and requirements with stringent deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a fastchanging, rapidly growing industry.
