Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Estimator to join our team.

As a Joinery Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing the costs associated with joinery projects, from initial concept to final execution.

Your expertise in quantifying materials, labor, and associated expenses will be essential in ensuring that our projects are competitively priced, financially viable, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Assessment: Collaborate with project managers and designers to review project specifications, blueprints, and architectural drawings to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.

Cost Estimation: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of joinery materials, construction techniques, and industry pricing standards to accurately estimate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.

Quantification: Take off measurements and quantities from architectural plans and sketches to determine the amount of materials needed, including wood, hardware, finishes, and other relevant components.

Pricing Analysis: Research and analyze market prices for materials and labor to ensure competitive and accurate pricing. Consider factors such as location, project complexity, and industry trends.

Cost Database Management: Maintain an up-to-date database of material costs, labor rates, and other cost factors to streamline the estimating process and ensure consistency across projects.

Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed and organized cost estimates, proposals, and bid documents that outline the scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and any assumptions made during the estimation process.

Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to address inquiries, provide clarifications, and adjust estimates as necessary.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks or challenges that may impact project costs and timelines, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry advancements, new materials, and innovative construction techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimating process.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all estimations, correspondence, and relevant project documentation for future reference and audit purposes.

Qualifications:

Proven
2 5 experience as a Joinery Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of joinery materials, woodworking techniques, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with an aptitude for quantitative analysis.
Familiarity with estimating software and tools, as well as proficiency in spreadsheet software.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment with tight deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with crossfunctional teams, clients, and suppliers.
Problemsolving mindset and the ability to anticipate and address potential challenges in cost estimation.
A degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g., construction management, architecture, engineering) is a plus.
