Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Handle and care for dogs under the supervision of senior staff members, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
  • Walk dogs onleash in designated areas, providing exercise, mental stimulation, and opportunities for socialization.
  • Clean and maintain kennel facilities, including feeding, watering, and grooming dogs according to established protocols.
  • Monitor dogs behavior and interactions with other dogs and humans, intervening as needed to prevent conflicts or ensure safety.
  • Assist with basic training and obedience exercises, using positive reinforcement techniques to reinforce desired behaviors.
  • Administer medications and treatments to dogs as prescribed by veterinarians, following proper procedures and documentation.
  • Provide enrichment activities and toys to keep dogs mentally stimulated and engaged during their stay at the facility.
  • Educate clients about proper dog care, behavior management, and training techniques to promote responsible pet ownership.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all dogrelated areas, including indoor and outdoor play areas, sleeping quarters, and grooming stations.
  • Report any health or behavioral concerns observed in dogs to senior staff members or veterinarians for further evaluation and intervention.
  • Assist with the intake and adoption process for dogs, including temperament assessments, behavioral evaluations, and matching dogs with suitable adopters.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for dogs and staff.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with dogs in a professional capacity, such as at a boarding kennel, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or dog training facility, is preferred but not required.
  • Genuine passion for working with dogs and a commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of canine behavior, basic training principles, and proper handling techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact confidently with clients and visitors.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to handle dogs of various sizes and breeds, including lifting and restraining as needed.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the needs of the facility.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
