Overview of the role


This Assistant Logistics Manager is to support the Logistics Manager in managing the day-to-day running of the Shared Logistics Department, by performing tasks, processes, and analyses about the department, and liaising with stores and the logistics service providers/custom clearance agents daily to ensure that logistics, clearing and inventory issues are resolved.

The job holder will oversee the entire supply chain (from origin to store, including store returns) to work within budget and meet business and service level objectives for the GCC region.


The job holder will control supply chain costs, reduce in lead time to stores, manage obsolescent stock, increase stock turns/product sell through and ensure maximum on shelf availability.

He/ She will develop clear logistics best practices and processes, and ensure these are communicated, and implemented across the GCC region in line with local requirements.

Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, Logistics Service Providers, Brand Logistics, Buying, Finance, and Store Operations Managers) to effectively enable critical decision-making that will impact stock availability, freight warehouse and distribution costs and manage delivery lead times.


What you will do

Manage & Monitor GCC Supply Chain Costs & Service Levels

  • Management of supply chain cost & service levels to ensure that they stay within budgeted levels for the Premium Fashion and Department Stores
  • Develop and implement immediate corrective action where costs are outside budgeted levels
  • Ecommerce support in the region (from a logistics perspective)
  • Logistics support for products brought locally

Inventory Management

  • Assist with the development and enforcement of robust inventory/ stock policies and ensure that the replenishment system in SAP is operating efficiently.
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of robust inventory/ stock policies, procedures (SOPs).
  • Optimize inventories within the country and assist with replenishment.
  • Ensure instore availability is in within targeted levels
  • Timely identification of slowmover inventory to Buying Team. Ensure that clear actions are in place to address these slow movers and physically coordinate the movement of products back to the local vendor as per agreed terms with vendors and/or back to outlet mall.
  • Assist with the coordination of store stock takes/inventory reconciliation. Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate daily cycle counts with the warehouse.
  • Ensure physical product movements are accurately documented.

ERP Logistics & Inventory Management Processes

  • Ensure that the ERP (SAP) is maintained and operating effectively and efficiently from an inventory & logistics point of view
  • Ensure 'Automated replenishment' is fully operational and working efficiently in all stores.

Inbound /Outbound Management & Customs Clearance

  • Ensure the smooth import & customs clearance of goods across the GCC Region for both merchandise and nonmerchandise product
  • Liaise with Agents who facilitate Approved Lab Testing processes (SASO) and expedited Clearance timelines.
  • Proactively monitor and control inbound shipments to ensure the timely delivery of products to the stores. Oversee warehouse and logistics operations and ensure all relevant documentation is received and processed accurately.

People

  • Manage service provider resources to meet changing demands and needs in the business in a costefficient manner.
  • Promote a culture of cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork within the brand and with logistic service providers.

Required Skills to be successful
