Afifah Siddiqui

I believe we find the right career by trying various ones out. After wearing many hats—those of a business person, facilitator, and copywriter—I've found that interior design is the perfect fit for me. It is right amounts technical and aesthetic; it satiates my urge for logic and rationality and pushes me to find elegant solutions to human needs. 

To contribute my best effort to this field I'm prepping to be a great designer. I'm currently pursuing the Advanced Diploma in Interior Design offered by Capital Education, Dubai. The course has helped me build the right skillsets and has readied me for an internship to gain real-world knowledge.

Freelance Copywriter (April 2021- Jan 2022)  

• Wrote sales copy for two businesses with high-ticket services like real estate property management and home renovation. Tasks included descriptions and an e-book 

• Wrote web copy and developed the user interface for a technical copyeditor’s website  

The Salvage Story | Sustainable Fashion Store (July 2019- Dec 2022) 

• Identified a need for sustainable clothing that's affordable for young professionals 

• Used marketing strategies like auctions, giveaways, targeted ads, influencer marketing  to gain 7000+ IG followers and 271 unique customers in <2 years 

• Got published in Grazia India's March 2020 feature story. Also in Hindustan Times,  Femina, Man's World and more 

• Handled everything from sourcing, photographing, selling to shipping  

Junior Associate, CCS Academy |  Centre for Civil Society  (July 2018- July 2019) 

• Facilitated 3-day 'Introduction to Public Policy' workshops for young professionals and college students 

• Managed participant shortlists and logistics for the events: devised the session plan,  invited speakers, resolved concerns, ensured satisfactory stay and travel for guests, etc. 

• Conducted activity-based sessions to explain concepts like price discovery, spontaneous order, etc.
