Ahmed Hamed

A diligent, active civil engineer who is keen on obtaining technical skills and is passionate about working in an environment where I can exert my skills and knowledge to help create a brighter future.

I have extensive experience in the field of building information modeling (BIM) and have held positions as an Associate BIM Coordinator at EllisDon and a Junior Civil Engineer and BIM Coordinator at Associated Management Consultants. In these roles, I have been responsible for tasks such as 3D model quantity extraction, clash detection and visual walkthroughs using NavisWorks, 4D scheduling and simulation using Autodesk NavisWorks, preparing and compiling construction plans and Gantt charts, and compiling contracts and other technical documents. In addition to my BIM experience, I have also gained valuable skills in testing and analysis through internships at Dubai Police as a Forensic Engineer and at Fujairah National Contracting as a Quality Control Intern. In these roles, I have performed compressive and tension testing and analysis on samples, conducted research on the mechanical properties of 3D-printed concrete, and assisted with site inspections and project planning. Overall, my strong background in BIM and related fields has prepared me to excel in a professional setting and make a meaningful contribution to any organization.

I completed my B.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the American University in Dubai in December 2020. During my time at the university, I gained a strong foundation in construction management, structural systems design, structure analysis, and visualization using software. My coursework also included several projects that allowed me to develop insight into the backend operations of systems and hone my problem-solving and analysis skills. Some examples of my university projects include a course project on the design of a residential building in Dubai, a project on the analysis and design of a steel structure using ETABS software, and a project on the analysis and design of a reinforced concrete structure using SAFE software. These experiences have prepared me to excel in a professional setting and make a meaningful contribution to any organization.
