Alfiya Nagriwala

I am a passionate and empathetic Mental Health Professional with over 6 years of experience in individual and group counselling, particularly with adolescents and young adults. With a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in Psychology, and additional diplomas in Counselling and Special Education, I have developed a strong foundation in psychological principles, mental health assessments, and therapeutic interventions.
My experience spans educational institutions, corporate environments, and public service, including counselling roles at Kendriya Vidyalayas(schools), the National Disaster Management Authority, and corporate training for Tata Group’s retail brands. I specialise in addressing issues such as stress, interpersonal relationships, addiction, depression, and anxiety through workshops, assessments, and one-on-one sessions.
I believe in creating safe, non-judgemental spaces where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered. My strengths lie in empathetic listening, ethical practice, team collaboration, and public speaking. I’m always eager to explore new avenues where I can contribute to the well-being of others and make a meaningful impact through mental health awareness and support.

With over six years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve worked across clinical, educational, and corporate settings. My journey began with internships in special education and psychiatric care, followed by my role as Assistant Psychologist at Psypathology (2019–2022), where I conducted individual therapy sessions and psychometric assessments. I then supported COVID‑19 patients through tele‑counselling with the National Disaster Management Authority (2020–2021), providing psychological first aid and grief counselling. My work in school counselling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Indore (2022–2024) involved student and teacher counselling, psychological assessments, and the development of individualised education plans. Currently, I serve as a Counsellor at IITRAM, Ahmedabad, where I conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions, organize workshops on mental health and career guidance, and lead initiatives that promote psychological well-being across the institution.

I began my academic journey with a strong foundation in psychology, completing my CBSE Secondary education in 2012 with 83.4% and Higher Secondary in 2014 with 93.4%. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from DAVV, Indore in 2017 with 68.7%, followed by an M.A. in Psychology in 2019 with 78.8%. To deepen my specialisation, I completed a Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation of the Intellectually Disabled from NIEPMD, Chennai in 2021 with 71.8% and recently received a Grade A in the Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from Emo Matrix in 2025. I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology from IGNOU and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Malwanchal University. Additionally, I have qualified both the UGC‑NET and MP‑SET exams, basic condition to work as an Assistant Professor.
