About Charlene Fernando:

I have been a classroom teacher for the past 4 years in Social Studies and Moral Education, teaching assistant, Learning support assistant. I attended training and courses such as: Registered Behavioral Therapist, SEN level 5, ABA, Sen coordinator level 4 and trainings related to my work. I enjoy the challenge of teaching students academically but also helping them to thrive socially.  My years of experience taught me the value of patience and encouragement. To serve and teaching them comes naturally to me and gives me a deep sense of personal satisfaction, love my fashion, and pursue to level up my professional development. As a team, I also to make sure to stay connected with them and work to success of each student, parents with much more professionally and patiently. I’ve truly learned from every student, parents, colleagues l have work with.

  • Develop and deliver learning activities under supervision of the class teacher.
  • Continually promote individual student's self-esteem and independence. 
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support student to achieve IB curriculum objectives.
  • Supervise and provide support student’s ensuring safety and providing access to learning activities.

I had higher level teaching assistant experienced I take on additional responsibilities such as teaching classes on my own in Music and Outside Activity, covering class if the class teacher is absent, do a weekly plan, classroom display, worksheets and Books/HW marking. I manage other learning support staff and report on children's progress.
