Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receiving and processing specimens as required by respective laboratory area procedures and protocols.
• Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with all individuals as necessary to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures to elicit cooperation.
• Perform a variety of routine and complex phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture, finger and heel sticks accessing central lines arterial blood gas and blood cultures.
• Perform clinical microscopy examination like Urinalysis, Fecalysis, occult blood and pregnancy test.
• Perform Hematological procedures like complete blood count, platelet count.
• Perform Blood Banking procedure donor blood typing and cross matching report.
• Perform Clinical Chemistry procedure like blood sugar determination, lipid profile, kidney profile, liver profile, and electrolyte profile and endocrinology.
• Perform routine Endocrinology, Immunological/Serological and
• Microbiological procedure.
• Perform internal and external quality control to maintain compliance with internal and external regulation
• Recognize the clinical significance of each test performed and reports result within established time frame.
• Performs required laboratory machine maintenance at the prescribe time and log appropriately.
• Perform minor trouble shooting on laboratory machine.
• Records necessary documentation to comply with various regulatory authorities and Hospital regulations
• Assist in maintaining sufficient supplies at each work station.
• Assist with word processing, miscellaneous office tasks including ordering of laboratory supplies and maintaining office records.
• Assures in a clean work area and technical clean-up at the end of each shift.
• Assist in training new personnel to provide technical assistance to new employee
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
