Faizan Tazwar Alam

I am a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, a branch of one of the world’s top 1% engineering institutions. I specialize in structural analysis, sustainable green concrete technologies, and life cycle assessment (LCA) of construction materials.

With a strong academic background and practical experience, I have worked as a Structural Design Instructor at UOWD, where I guided students in structural calculations and modeling using ETABS and ANSYS. I also completed a structural engineering internship at SAM Building Contracting L.L.C., contributing to the design and compliance of a 12,288 m² pre-engineered steel warehouse following ASCE, IBC, and Dubai Building Code standards.

In addition, I have experience teaching advanced mathematics and physics to students across British curriculum schools and have engaged in business development roles, successfully managing vendor partnerships and project deployments.

My technical skills include ETABS, AutoCAD, Staad.Pro, ANSYS FEA, SimaPro, hand calculations, structural modeling, and green concrete design. I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali.

Recognized as a YMG Student Representative for IStructE UAE and completing an Engineers Australia-accredited program, I am committed to contributing to sustainable, innovative, and code-compliant structural engineering solutions.

I have a diverse background in civil and structural engineering, complemented by academic instruction and business development experience. As a Structural Design Instructor at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, I guided students through advanced structural calculations, reinforced design principles, and manual and software-based modeling using ETABS and ANSYS.

During my Structural Engineering Internship at SAM Building Contracting L.L.C., I contributed to the structural design of a large steel warehouse, applying ASCE 7-10 and IBC 2012 standards, conducting manual quantity take-offs, and ensuring compliance with Dubai Building Codes. I also participated in value engineering initiatives to optimize material usage while maintaining structural integrity.

In addition to my engineering roles, I served as an Advanced Mathematics and Physics Instructor at Improve ME Institute, where I successfully improved student performance across various British curriculum schools. I further developed business acumen through business development roles at LaLaBix and Blue Box Vending, gaining experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and project coordination.

Across all roles, I have demonstrated strong technical skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Honours) at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, accredited under the Washington Accord and recognized by Engineers Australia, fulfilling the academic requirements for future Chartered Engineer eligibility.

During my studies, I specialized in structural analysis, green sustainable concrete technologies, and life cycle assessment (LCA). I earned distinction grades in major projects, including structural modeling, cable-stayed bridge analysis, and a comparative LCA thesis evaluating green concrete alternatives such as GGBS, Fly Ash, and Aerogel. My education emphasized both manual structural design calculations and advanced simulation using software like ETABS, AutoCAD, Staad.Pro, ANSYS, and SimaPro.
