About Habiba Jaballah:

My name is Habiba Jaballah and I’m a lifelong, enthusiastic, and passionate international educator with twenty-plus years of experience. I hold an MBA from Bedfordshire University, UK, a BA in education from Tunisia, and a Diploma in Educational Management of Private Schools accredited by Advanced, UK. I am writing to express my genuine interest in the position of  ……… currently open at ……

In my years of work, I have been both a teacher and a leader. Through a multitude of experiences, I have been able to expand my skills and knowledge, and use them to empower my students and my colleagues both in public and international schools. I have had the pleasure of working among a plethora of nationalities, and cultures as wonderful students, colleagues, and societies. I have lived and worked in Tunisia, the Sultanate of Oman, and where I’m currently based, the UAE. Some of the roles I have filled, which fostered my passion for teaching and leading people include School Principal, Vice Principal, IB Primary Years Program Coordinator, Deputy Head for Academic Affairs, Head Teacher, Head of Arabic Studies department, Elementary Coordinator, Students Council Coordinator, Advanced skills PYP teacher (through the Charlotte Daniels Evaluation System, 2013), and Bilingual Primary school teacher (Arabic/French).

For the past decade, I have had the pleasure of representing the International Baccalaureate Organisation. I had started as a PYP Workshop Leader, which motivated me to acquire good communication and adaptability skills and to have a deep understanding of the IB PYP programme in different school contexts. My ambition and passion have led me to acquire more roles within the decade. They are: (1) PYP Advanced Consultant, where I consolidated my IB knowledge of the requirements and authorization process. I can proudly say that all my efforts have proven successful as these IB candidate schools were all authorized as IB world schools. (2) PYP Visiting Team Member, where I learned to be a more resilient communicator. (3) IB Programme Leader which has helped me to better understand the set of criteria for the IB Standards and Practices 2020 to evaluate IB World Schools and write the preliminary review report as the first part of the evaluation report. (4) IB Evaluation Leader who leads the IB evaluation team and evaluation process and is the first contact of the IB schools service office and coordinates between the IB evaluation team and different stakeholders during the visit. Adding to that, I have also been a certified CIS Visiting Team Member since 2015.

Collaboration and external assessment have played a big role in my career, and my personal and professional growth. As an external assessment coordinator, I was able to participate in and work with different assessment programmes such as GL, IBT, ISA. TIMSS, and Pass. I was able to see the huge progress in achievement that students had made on internal and external levels of their educational journey. On a regional level, I been selected to be a member of the Arab Reading Challenge completion judgement committee in Dubai where I had the pleasure of collaborating with likeminded educators and leaders and have been able to encourage participation of students from my school alongside other participants.

l currently fulfil the role of an educational expert, working as The Deputy head of primary and the IB Primary Years Program coordinator and the head of the Arabic studies department. During my time of employment, I was able to achieve an outstanding IB evaluation visit report and have made substantial progress in 22 indicators of the KHDA report (22-23). I also made a significant progress in both external assessment results for grades 3 to5; (outstanding IBT and Very good ISA English, Maths and Science literacy results. I also have had a vital role in increasing the number of enrolled students by meeting parents and introducing them to the IBPYP and MYP programs.

I am a dedicated person who is committed to exposing the full potential of those around me while exploring and pushing my boundaries. I have a good grasp on how to help teams streamline their processes, create more consistency in their work, and improve their practices. My MBA expertise have also strengthened my knowledge of the school's financial aspects such as creating the school budget, day-to-progress day operation, marketing the school to increase the number of enrolled students to innovating the way the school operates. I aspire to create a positive culture of trust, respect and collaboration where the team can build relationships and spread positivity and care.

Well-being, coaching and mentoring people has also been a big passion of mine for the longest time. For that reason, I would love to utilize my energetic attitude, my twenty-first-century leadership knowledge, skills (particularly the 6 Leadership Cs; Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creative thinking, Creativity and Innovation, Credibility), and all IBEN instructional capabilities to inspire people, and work collaboratively and positively toward achieving mutual goals.
