About Hayley L:
I am a highly trained Performing Arts and Dance educator with a degree in Performing Arts, supported by extensive professional teaching and performance experience. I teach both in-person and online as a Dance and ESL tutor, delivering inclusive, engaging instruction across a wide range of dance styles and musical theatre to learners from age 3 through to adults.
I am ISTD trained to Intermediate level in Ballet, Tap, and Modern, through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, and bring a strong foundation of technical excellence alongside creative, student-centred teaching methods.
I have substantial experience working with SEND children and children with disabilities, designing and delivering sensory-based dance classes tailored to individual needs. My approach prioritises accessibility, emotional safety, and confidence-building, using movement as a tool for communication, regulation, and self-expression.
In addition, I have taught movement therapy and seated dance classes for adults living with Parkinson’s disease and dementia, with sessions carefully structured to support mobility, coordination, mental wellbeing, and cognitive engagement. These classes are empowering, joyful, and rooted in dignity and connection.
Alongside my specialist teaching, I have worked as a Nursery School Teacher, holding a full Paediatric First Aid certification, an enhanced DBS, and comprehensive safeguarding training. Creating safe, nurturing, and inclusive environments is central to my professional practice.
As a performer, I have appeared on prestigious stages including Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, and performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
I also have extensive experience producing and directing annual productions and showcases, overseeing stage management, safeguarding logistics, and chaperone licensing. I pride myself on helping individuals of all ages and abilities discover movement as a powerful language and source of expression, enabling confidence, connection, and personal growth through dance.
