Helen Carmody

I’m Helen Carmody, an education consultant and corporate trainer based in Dubai. Over the past decade, I’ve worked across the UK and UAE as a teacher, school leader, and senior trainer, before moving into consultancy and corporate training.

My passion is helping people grow, whether that’s mentoring new teachers, coaching leaders, or designing engaging training experiences for professionals. I specialise in leadership development, communication, behavioural change, and instructional design, creating programmes that are practical, interactive, and genuinely transformative.

Alongside training, I bring strong project management expertise, having coordinated large-scale initiatives and international programmes, including leading operations on a global tour with a film crew and motorsport technology partner. This experience means I understand how to deliver not only engaging learning but also complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

I have over ten years’ experience in education, training, and leadership development across the UK and UAE. My background includes roles as Assistant Principal, Teaching and Learning Coach, Head of Department, and Subject Specialist Coach, where I led professional development, mentored and assessed trainee teachers and NQTs, and contributed to both general and subject-specific school inspections. More recently, I have worked as a corporate trainer and consultant, designing and delivering programmes on leadership styles, coaching skills, communication, conflict resolution, and team development. I also bring project management expertise, having coordinated large-scale initiatives and global projects involving multiple stakeholders.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, UK, 2010) and a BSc (Hons) in Business and Technology from Sheffield Hallam University. In addition, I have completed professional qualifications in areas directly relevant to teacher development and leadership, including Transformational Leadership, Difficult Conversations, Leading Adult Learners, Delivering Professional Development, Transforming Middle Leaders, Lesson Observations, Leading in a Time of Change, and Safer Recruitment. These qualifications underpin my ability to train, mentor, and assess professionals with credibility and impact.
