Given my extensive experience, I am an expert in managing all on-shore activities for assigned vessels, handling all maintenance activities of the vessels, handling cargo, conducting safety and compliance checks, overseeing the department’s safety management system, developing capital and operating budgets, and hiring of the crew. I always ensure that all safety regulations are followed.

My credentials include a Master’s degree in Merchant Marine Science as well as Masters CoC Unlimited with sailing time on Oil/Chemical Tankers.

Senior Marine Superintendent

Highlights:

Responsibilities:

Manage various vessels including worldwide trading product tankers (DWT from 49000t to 94999t), dry cargo vessels, chemical tankers with average DWT 46000t and bulk carriers DWT 85000t.

Operate Chemical, Oil Tankers and Bulk Carriers, delivering its cargo in a safe, secure and cost-effective manner.

Ensure the safe operations of ships and compliance to all international marine requirements, with no delays or accidents.

Liaise between ships-in-charge and ship owners, commercial operators, charterers, terminals, receivers, classification society, flag state, port state control, service providers and other company departments to deliver support.

Assist with identifying potential discrepancies from operational standards and proposes solutions for the effective operation of the navigational and cargo equipment of the assigned vessels.

Ensure that all assigned vessels possess the required statutory certification for safe operation in accordance with Class, Port State Control & Flag State requirements, maritime legislation, safety regulations & operational standards of the company.

Manage the team and ensure that all resources made available by the company are used in an optimum manner to maintain the value of any ships under charge.

Brief crew on organizational policies, documentation and procedures; conduct appraisals of crew members.

Monitor operating costs and submit quarterly budget follow-up reports.

Inspect vessels with an audit of navigation, cargo and safety-related procedures; develop detailed audit reports.

Identify safety risk assessment and environmental aspects/impacts for vessel operations.

Maintain Safety Management System (SMS) updates with consistent improvement to produce quality, accuracy, adequate and efficient procedures.

Brief Shipboard Senior Officers prior to joining vessels on safety management systems, company policies, vessel operations and specific charterers’ requirements.

Ensure the paramount safety and security of all crew and cargo, and ensure the navigational efficiency of the vessel’s fleet. 

Assist with all QHSE matters, and ensure the vessel is prepared for the appropriate vetting and clearance activities.
