As an actor, there are countless lives I get to live. Today, I could be a poet from the 18th century and tomorrow I could be a powerful CEO of a major tech company. I could burst with laughter laughter right now and drown in tears the very next minute. When one dives deep into this craft, their mind and body becomes a medium for several characters (fictional or otherwise) to come alive and present themselves to the viewers. Acting is “becoming” someone or something. But to turn a character on and off takes plenty of effort and practice. Having acted for stage and screen over the past five years, I have accumulated enough knowledge about the methods associated with acting and drama. Before starting my career as a professional actor, I was an educational coach at Creya Learning, a company that offeder after-school learning to children aged 4 to 16 years. My work at Creya made me fall in love with the art of teaching. The profession of a teacher goes beyond just sharing concepts from a book. It comes from experience – from having journeyed through the path yourself so you know exactly which lanes to guide your students through. I believe every student has the potential to thrive and shine if they’re guided in the right direction.
