Maha Karaan

I hold a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Abu Dhabi University (2022) and BA Degree in English Language and Literature from the Lebanese University (September, 2004). 

I believe that my academic training and almost 15 years of experience in teaching and admin positions prepare me to be an effective employee in your department. I am a qualified, dynamic, and experienced person having strong knowledge about various fields and the ability to formulate administrative policies and ensure high standards of discipline at the workplace. I also have excellent communication, inter-personal and problem-solving skills which will benefit the students in all respects.

Positive attitude and proficiency in co-curricular activities are some of my character traits. I have keen interest in education, an excellent academic track record along with teaching at Al Nahda National School for Girls, 3 years of Academic Advisor, and 3 years of Student Well Being Coordinator, and 3 years of Head of Student Life Organization which would help me to create a wonderful knowledgeable environment for my students. As a high school English teacher in Abu Dhabi, I gained the experience of planning the yearly curriculum plan, integrating technology in my teaching, and applying differentiation. 

My objective as an educator is to motivate my students to develop their own learning interests and critical thinking, establish a learner-centered environment in the classroom. Having different positions at schools in the UAE has made me aware of the needs and interests of a culturally and ethnically diverse student body. Hence, I prepare plans always considering the interconnection between the students’ own knowledge, culture and abilities, the subject matter discussed in class, and current debates on social issues. 

The application of technology and computer-based material in my work such as interactive white board and internet are helpful tools in the promotion of meaningful learning and extracurricular activities through collaborative work as well. 

My mission is to impart my passion for education and activities to students and higher education learners in such a way that it contributes to their success as future life.
