About Mona Amer:
I have experience in both schools and universities because I have taught in both sectors. In the UAE, I have taught at Harvest Private School and at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK)
I have more than 13 years of experience teaching Arabic language in British and French curriculum schools. Currently, I am working at Harvest Private School, where I am the head of the Arabic language, Islamic Studies, Social Studies and Moral Education department supervising seventeen faculty members. Previously, I have more than 7 years of experience in French schools outside of the United Arab Emirates.
I have skills and experiences that qualify me to lead and manage people from different nationalities and backgrounds with diverse temperaments. I have a good command of emotional intelligence and enjoy coaching and training teachers to improve their teaching and learning in the classroom.
As a Head of department, I observe and evaluate teachers in their teaching and learning abilities. I review their assessment quality. I help them in preparing assessments according to the table of specifications and analyzing the results of the tests. I use the data obtained to develop and improve the attainment and progress of the students. I have successfully obtained above average results in international tests over the last 3 years for the Arabic language, through the evaluation of the Ministry compared to the results of Middle Eastern schools
I hold a Master’s degree in curricula and methods of teaching the Arabic language in addition to two diplomas. In addition, I have many certificates of attendance and participation in professional training courses such as “Microsoft platforms, the Khalifa Award for Education Foundation the Regional Center for Educational Planning , UNICEF, Rakez and Al Qasimi foundation
