Senior Lab Technologist-Deputy in charge –Blood Bank

Duties:

Performing all types of blood transfusion services and tests in blood bank.

1. Testing donors and preparation of blood and then bleed donors.
2. Separation and preparation of blood components such as packed cells. FFP and platelets and cryoprecipitate etc.
3. Perform all tests in blood bank such as, cross match, blood group and RH, antibody screens, antibody identification, cold agglutinins, direct antiglobulin tests. (DAT or DCT), panel test, detection of malaria parasite by using Diamed enzyme kit and others.
4. Arranging blood donation campaigns and coordination with doctors.
5. Performing of Quality Control (Q.C.) in blood bank.
6. Improving and developing the work and procedures in blood bank up to date.
7. Methods and procedures: In addition to tube methods, we are using Diamed Card methods and procedures to detect and perform all tests in blood bank. Which give more reliable results, the procedures are performed manually or automated by using Swing-Saxo machine.
8. Inventory and supply of the reagents and materials.

In Hematology:

1. CBC and differential count: we are using Cell-Dyne-Sapphire auto analyzer machine and Advia-120 analyzer by Bayer also.
2. Hb electrophoresis: we are using Bio rad Variant machine and new cebia capillary machine also.
3. Coagulation profile: we are using sysmex machine for PT, PTT, INR, and fibrinogen. D-dimer and others. For D-dimer we are using manual kit also.
