• M/s ARADA Developments LLC is developing a new project comprises of three high-rise towers with a current GFA of 111,148 sqm, standing at an approx. 200m high. SOCOTEC International will review and verify all the FLS drawings calculation and technical specification, and also provide support to the lead consultant during the detailed design stage and provide guidance particularly related to Authority requirements, by attending coordination meetings with the Client’s representatives and other consultants appointed by the Client for the project. Value engineering will perform during detail design stage. 

Dubai Suspended Transit Systems – UAE

• SOCOTEC, as the FLS sub-consultant to SYSTRA has prepared this report to establish the design basis for fire protection and life safety requirements applicable to the Suspended Transit System (STS) Stations project. Preparing the architectural FLS drawing markups for stations as per UAE civil defense submission and assisting the preparation of FLS strategy plan.

DMCC – UPTOWN Tower Handing Over Survey – UAE.

• Executing inspection through the consideration of the fire and life safety systems functionality assessments and cause-and-effect matrix verification against all applicable standards and legislation to ensure that the tower is compliant and MEP As-built verification along with MEP Defect survey.  .

DMCC – FLS & HSE Consultant 

• Conducting an in-depth audit to assess the risk of the high-rise buildings and infrastructure within the DMCC Free Zone area to ensure the relevant code and regulation. Responsibility including the verifying the emergency response and action plans for areas of improvement created and issued.

DMCC – Industrial & retail inspections – UAE

• An ongoing project carrying out assessments of all retail and industrial units within the free zone to ensure with UAE health and safety standards, UAE fire & life safety code and DMCC Health and Safety policies and raise the safety standard for workers, visitors, and residents.

• Managing the handing over project and visited the site and evaluated the FLS & MEP systems to identify all non-compliance inline with UAEFC and NFPA standards.

Roles and Responsibilities as Fire and Life Safety Engineer

As a Fire Life Safety Specialist, handling various projects which scopes varies from inspections, reviews, risk assessment, evacuation planning and strategies such as but not limited to the following; Fire Pump Visual, Flow and Sequential Test, Verification of Fire Alarm’s Cause and Effect Matrix and other third-party system interfacing, Installation and Integrity Test and Sequential Test of Gaseous Extinguishing System and Water-Based Fire protection System, Flow Testing of Hydrant and Standpipe Systems, Emergency Lighting Integrity and Performance Test.

• Analyzing the inspection reports with contractor and recommending the suggestion, Coordinate with client to meet the Fire and Life Safety requirement. Admirable knowledge in project management software ZUTEC.
• Advising inspection manager to any slippage of progress regarding site activities
• Ensure all technical specifications for the various fire and life safety materials/ systems and provide technical inputs.
• Review and verify Progress payment application submitted by contractor for payment.
• Reviewing shop drawings with NFPA and UAE code regulations and standards.
• Review and Approval of Engineering Judgment related to the passive system.

• Coordinate with client and subcontractor for the company, assign staff for daily task and provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation for the team.
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, assign staff for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
