Riadh Hadj Said

I am an expert conservator architect Specialist in cultural heritage management with over

20 years of extensive experience in the preservation, conservation and management of

cultural heritage (historical and archaeological monuments and sites).

I hold a higher degree in architecture from the National School of Architecture and Urbanism

in Tunisia, along with master's degree in heritage, architecture, and ancient history from the

University Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux III, France.

As a leader in heritage preservation, I have served as Chair of the African Site Managers

Network (ASMN), and Regional Director at the National Heritage Institute in Tunisia (INP),

and have overseen important restoration projects such as the Project Manager of the Roman

amphitheater in El Jem, a monument listed as a World Heritage Site, and the Chief

Conservator of the historic city of Sousse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I actively participated in local, regional and international workshops, conferences and

training sessions to raise awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

In addition, I was a Council member of the ICCROM Rome Centre from 2015 to 2019, as well

as a member of ICCROM Arab Sharjah, and I served on the ICCROM Audit Committee from

2019 to 2021.

I am also a member of the Tunisian National Committee of the International Council on

Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and a member of the Tunisian National Committee of the

International Council of Museums (ICOM).

With my exceptional technical skills in architectural software such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and

Photoshop, I possess extensive experience in providing innovative solutions for the design,

management, and preservation of heritage sites.

I am passionate about collaborating and partnering with local communities, governmental

and non-governmental organizations and civil society associations to promote and raise

awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and encourage sustainable cultural.
