About Shyla Barclay:

I am a Child Educational and Community Psychologist who is passionate about facilitating positive progress for children and young people experiencing barriers to the learning and wellbeing.

Experience

I have worked as an educational psychologists across early years, school and community contexts using consultation, assessment, intervention and training to promote psychological change. Prior to training as a psychologist, I gained extensive experience as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant supporting young people with communication needs and empowering adults to enable their independence. 

Education

I completed my professional doctorate in child, community and educational psychology in 2024. I continue to seek out career progression development opportunities to maintain the best standards of practice.
