Slindile Makhanya

Experienced and dedicated Kindergarten - Elementary teacher with 5+ years experience across various year groups. Guided by international best practice, a high level for adaptation coupled with strong communication and listening skills makes for a dynamic member of staff. I am eager about planning and delivering engaging lessons that resonate with students. Striving for excellence, organization and teamwork are key components of my work ethic. 

My first position was at a SPARK Maboneng, a private school in Johannesburg, South Africa. I taught grade 2 and 3 Mathematics and I was with the company for a year and half. In aims for growth, I moved to China and worked in Beijing. My first position there was: ESL Teacher at English First where I taught age groups ranging from 3-18. My second position in the country was in Beijing SMIC Kindergarten as a Kindergarten English Teacher. I was with SMIC for 2 years and half, the contract ended due to the fact that I could not make it back to Beijing from South Africa due to COVID-19. I was unemployed from January 2021 until July 2021. I landed a position as a Grade 3 Homeroom teacher in the UAE for August 2021. That is where I am currently employed. 

I hold a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology and Sociology. My education qualification is a Postgraduate Certificate in Education specializing in Foundation Phase.
