I am a School Counsellor/Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead with a total of ten years’ experience working in an academic setting; seven years of which have been in both British and American schools in the United Arab Emirates.For the past seven years of my career in the United Arab Emirates, I have been inspected by the Ministry Of Education and ADEK several times, and I have been able to contribute and represent the area of counselling, students' care and support, well-being and safeguarding always to be highlighted as a strength at school and I was able to maintain a very good feedback in every inspection. Last inspection was in November, 2021 and I was evaluated as an Outstanding Counsellor and Safeguarding Lead across the school. As a School Counsellor, I have been providing counselling to students and staff, raising awareness amongst students and actively communicating with parents; empowering students and looking after their mental health and well-being, while supporting the School Pastoral Care Team and insuring that students have the perfect environment to achieve their academic goals. Thorough out the daily work with students, teachers and parents, my students have been able to achieve their highest academic potential and make a massive personal growth. Preventing bullying to maintain the students’ safety and wellbeing is essential, as it plays the greatest part of students’ progress mentally and academically at school. I always have been able to help students building a social network and contributing to their society through different activities and projects.  I have been guiding students to build a great self-awareness, develop their self-esteem, secure a healthy social life at school and maintain their mental health.  Safeguarding and Child Protection is a crucial part of my role.  Delivering CPDs and training staff members, delivering assemblies to students, workshops to parents and following appropriate safeguarding procedures and actions, has been the key of having a safe school environment.  My sensitive role connects me with the Social Support Center and MOI. I am always calm and collected, no matter how severe the case might be, I handle situations in a professional manner. Supporting teachers in class behaviour management, pastoral care, and parental communication reflected my team work ethic at school and positively impacted the students’ development. I would describe myself as a skilled communicator able to bridge even the most sensitive of topics and encourage reluctant students to open up. My organizational skills are excellent and I meticulously document and record sessions, incidents and cases, with keeping confidentiality as a priority.
