Description

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef, who will be responsible for planning and managing food preparation in the restaurant kitchen.

You will act as the second in command in our kitchen, following and enforcing our Head Chef's requirements and guidelines.

You will be an innovative professional who is willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs.

You will carry out the role of cost controlling and maintaining food costs and supervise storage, stocking, and sanitation procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand
  • Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs
  • Control and ensure that expenses/purchases/requisitions are within budget limits
  • Ensure efficient, costeffective operation and profitability of food production
  • Constantly check the quality of food prepared concerning taste and temperature
  • Check stores and refrigerators and be responsible for the proper storing and recycling of leftovers
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Work closely with the purchasing department to make sure that received goods are of standard quality and according to restaurant specifications
  • Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies
  • Provide support to junior kitchen staff with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Ensure smooth and effective communication among the kitchens and with other departments
  • Train kitchen staff to meet restaurant and kitchen standards
  • Create schedules for kitchen staff and evaluate their performance
  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations
  • Manage the kitchen team in the head chef's absence
  • Attend a regular meeting with the Head Chef to discuss future business strategy and review ongoing action plan progress, and other departmental meetings as required
  • Produce highquality plates both design and tastewise

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Science or relevant field
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Teamworkoriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergencies and providing solutions
  • Safe Food Handling Certification

Salary:
AED5, AED6,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Fujairah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
