Job Overview:

Responsible and accountable for all R&D initiatives, including the creation and management of the R&D plan. This will include CTR's, KPI creation and management, manpower plans and overall scheduling process.

Responsible and accountable for of the PPG groups R&D initiatives and innovations, including the creation and management of the R&D plan, this will include CTR and KPI development and management, manpower plans and overall scheduling.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and management for all R&D initiatives.
Is accountable for all R&D initiatives, financially, scheduling, manpower and equipment
Responsible for tying in with operations / production and the McDermott Global Materials Community to ensure appropriate R&D initiatives are being undertaken
Implements R&D strategy for operational improvement or market advantage.
Responsible for R&D budgets and schedules.
Maintains adequate levels of competent personnel within the department and mentors staff for succession planning.
Develops and promotes a culture in line with the company's values through the functional group
Communicates and maintains relationships with key suppliers and vendors for welding, NDT and field joint coatings.
Maintains an understanding of competition and innovation in the industry to monitor upcoming changes
Other duties related to pipeline production R&D, as directed by Senior Director
PPG.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

Degree in Engineering preferable
Experience in lieu is acceptable
Over 10 years within the offshore construction industry primarily within pipeline production roles and leading R&D initiatives
Significant experience in rigid pipeline production
Significant experience with leading R&D initiatives
Experience of engaging with multifunctional / discipline teams

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Ability to provide leadership and management within the newly formed pipeline production group
R&D department.
Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
