Overall Purpose:


This position reports to the Head of IT and is responsible for designing and installing local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), internet and ensuring an effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of all systems hardware, networks and ICT infrastructure.

The position is also responsible for establishing and enforcing information security policies to protect the company assets, infrastructure, networks and data.


Primary Responsibilities:


Project Management:

  • Lead all projects related to infrastructure, connectivity, security and data center modifications/upgrades
  • Deliver required projects inputs according to time, quality, and budget requirements
  • Ensure progress is accurately communicated and expectations of stakeholders are managed effectively

Technical Input:


  • Responsible for maintaining and administering the data center's networks including but not limited to, the delivery of network planning, design, implementation & optimization services.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Responsible for maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures, such as firewalls, password policies and intrusion detections systems.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Deploy Operating System patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities within the systems and configure / add new services as necessary to ensure effective service to end users.
  • Maintain operational configuration or other procedures and document them as per the standards for future referencing.
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks in the data center.
  • Liaising with the thirdparty providers, providing services to the Commission on schedules to undertake the works and supervise them during the implementation process to ensure that quality and timely service are provided.
  • Establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router/switches administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Providing day to day technical support to end users to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/Information Technology
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • 6 years of service in a comparable position

Other:


  • FMCG experience highly desirable
  • JD Edwards ERP knowledge desirable
  • SFA knowledge/support experience highly desirable
  • Previous experience in any of the following solutions:
  • ArcServe Backup Solution
  • Virtualization (Hyper V, VMWare, Nutanix)
  • Cisco Meraki
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
Up to AED10,000.00 per month
