GPC Materials, Welding and Coating Deputy Discipline Manager

We are looking for a
Deputy Discipline Manager to be part of Materials, Welding and Coating within the GPC Engineering.

The Deputy Discipline Manager shares the supervision and management of the discipline with the Discipline Manager.


SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES:


  • Manage a team of MWC engineers and be ultimately responsible for the provision of support to project, tender and FEED activities,
  • Provide support to the MWC Discipline Manager in the daytoday running of the Dubai, Singapore, and Saudi Arabiabased Team and represent the Discipline in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, as required,
  • Be the technical reference and focal point for MWC engineering within the Global Project Centre in Dubai, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia and liaise with client experts, suppliers, project teams and other D&A and P&I disciplines,
  • Review and validate project technical documents, as required,
  • Maintain past project knowledge, discipline standards and discipline technical skills,
  • Stay up to date with latest technologies, techniques, and codes/standards within the discipline to maintain Subsea 7 competitiveness. Support technology developments / studies as required,
  • Support other regions on technical topics to develop a collaborative model,
  • Drive and support the delivery of digitalization initiatives across Engineering to deliver Vision 2025 of Field of the Future,
  • Support the Discipline Manager in the provision of resources and resource planning for all discipline activities/services on studies, tenders, and projects, producing adequate CTRs for these activities, as required,
  • Participate to the recruitment of personnel in accordance with the resource plan,
  • Manage team members: participate to Compass process, training, and development processes, support Graduate Engineer Development Scheme (GEDS),

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS:

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge, skills, experience and behaviours in the following areas:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or other degree in Engineering with focus on materials, welding and corrosion and relevant work experience in the energy sector,
  • Autonomy, capacity to coordinate and communicate are key assets to succeed at this position,
  • You have experience leading teams,
  • Capability in managing self time management, setting priorities, thinking creatively, making decisions under uncertain conditions, etc.
  • Ability in resource planning to meet resourcing requirements,
  • Capability in developing working relationships through effective communication,
  • Capability and willingness to motivate, train and develop others,
  • Understand clients' needs; independently evaluate, organize strategy to better support them.
  • Good communication skills able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders
