Our client:

A leading firm in UAE is looking for a procurement manager to organize, develop and manage the procurement function for non-development/Projects acquisition of good and services within the construction space.


Your role:

Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of goods/services purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.

Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of goods and services used in the business. Conducting cost analyses and setting purchasing benchmarks for improvement. Communication with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting the operations. Maintaining relationships with suppliers/vendors while continually scouting for additional suppliers/vendors. Build and develop procurement department function. Ensure the execution of purchasing activity is consistent with procurement policy and ethical behavior. Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across to subordinates when necessary. Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages. Working closely with the legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favorable and issued promptly. Improving purchasing practices by developing and implementing effective procurement policy and procedures. Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments. Review RFP packages, provide comments and recommendations as needed. Develop sourcing and procurement activities that support operational objectives. Negotiate the best pricing for products and services in the most cost and time efficient manner. Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities. Develop, communicate, and administer procurement team performance and appraisals.

Must haves: 10+ years of professional supply chain or procurement experience. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration. High level of written and verbal business in English. Arabic would be beneficial but not essential. Service-oriented personality, team orientation, and professional attitude. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills. Possess a logical mind-set, is results driven and a natural team player willing to go the extra mile. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Must have strong self-initiation and decision-making skills and good understanding of procurement processes. Proficient in ERPs such as SAP, Oracle and Estate Master Real Estate Software would be highly advantageous. Excellent negotiation skills.
