  • NES Fircroft is delighted to be partnering with an Oil & Gas industry giant who are looking to add a Project Engineering Technical Manager to work from their contractor offices in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
  • Role will be working on a 5 weeks on 2 weeks off rotational basis and will offer an excellent day rate. It will offer the chance to work for the end user client on one of the biggest production facilities in the world.

The office supports site operations in Iraq.

This role will have the opportunity to contribute in a positive way that will help build a sustainable future for our client and the people of Iraq.- The Project Engineering technical Manager will lead by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company's values, behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour to ensure reliable operations and Company satisfaction.


Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for managing the client and contractor interface, leading the definition of the project engineering programme execution within the Contractor offices and assuring the quality of their delivery.
  • Assurance that all Contractor deliverables meet safety, reliability, and industry standards expectations for the projects.
  • Accountable for performance monitoring of the Contractor, recommending and implementing improvement actions and influencing in areas identified for continuous improvement.
  • Assurance that Contractor change management is aligned with the project's activity plans, the process is rigorously applied, and thorough change communication with the Client is completed.
  • Management of consistent and comprehensive interface communication between Contractor projects personnel and stakeholder personnel across all technical and operational disciplines.
  • Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Project Health, Safety and Environment Review (PHSER) and EIA and HSE
  • Management of the Client technical and commercial risk processes within the Contractor office and interface with key stakeholders.
  • Management of intervention activities within the Contractor and stakeholder's offices.
  • Foster a culture of mutual improvement and development through demonstration of appropriate behaviours and evolution of close working relationship with Contractor leadership team members alike

Essential Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably master's qualification
  • Professional accreditation with recognised institute, such as Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer.

Essential experience and job requirements

  • Proven track record of safety leadership in the development and delivery of Project engineering.
  • Extensive and relevant industry experience in Project engineering support environments across the full value chain of hydrocarbon production facilities.
  • Experienced in project engineering management in both brownfield and greenfield environments.
  • Experienced of working in a senior leadership role, preferably at international locations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with teams from multiple cultures. Evidence of people and team development, and coaching experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge with all relevant industry codes, standards, and practices (e.g. API, IEC, ASME, ISO), and relevant experience with key Process engineering tools such as, Hysis, /Pipesim, Flarenet etc
  • Evidence of successful working in an environment with high volume of activity, with proven ability to identify, drive and influence priorities.
  • Experienced in activity planning, and holding self and others to account for delivery.

Desirable criteria and qualifications- Demonstrate knowledge of current industry and technology development within area of expertise

  • Demonstrate experience of continuous improvement development and implementation, learnings systematic engineering programme execution activities.
  • Ability to speak Arabic would is be beneficial but not essential.
