    Les Roches, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, is opening a world-class hospitality management academy in Abu Dhabi in September 2024. As part of the pre-opening preparations, we are recruiting the members of the Les Roches Abu Dhabi Executive Management Committee.

    The Head of Finance will be based in Abu Dhabi and will report to the Campus Managing Director.

    The purpose of this position is to manage all finance related activities covering accounting, budgeting, and reporting activities as per international standards and local legislation and to ensure the provision of effective financial support services to the academy in line with its strategy.

    To be eligible for the role, you imperatively need to have experience in the UAE's professional environment, hold a bachelor's degree from an academically rigorous institution in economics, finance, or accounting. You also have worked in a Finance Planning and Analysis position and/or in a finance operation position for at least 10 years.

    You have a solid accounting background, and you are at ease within an international environment. You have experience in managing finance functions including leading the delivery and implementation of finance function strategies and plans. Preference will be given to someone having had an academic institution experience.

    You are open to different cultures and mentalities and have managerial experience. You have a strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with a high energy level and a strong work ethic. You are able to build and maintain good relationships at all levels and achieve results in a multicultural team.

    As Head of Operations your main missions will be at different levels:

    Strategic alignment

    Manage the development and implementation of the department's strategy, policies, initiatives, and projects. Elaborate and execute with the school leadership team the financial development plan for the entity. Manage the development and implementation of the department's strategy, policies, initiatives, and projects. Work with central Sommet finance team to ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the institution's financial statements are made in compliance with local fiscal, statutory and IFRS regulations.

    Operations:

    Maintain and update the enrolment / revenue model. Understand the actuals and complete monthly variances. Report forecast P&L information (forecast + budget) into the reporting system. Complete financial analyses related to capital requests and coordinate the capital approval process for Les Roches. Provide financial support for the forecast, budget, and long-range plan processes. Complete the financial information for the forecasts, budgets, and long-range plan. Report on scholarships and discounts to Management team at Les Roches and provide recommendations. Manage the best possible relationship with parents and sponsors on any financial related aspects, including claim processes. Work closely with the student service support teams to gather accurate information on services used by individual students. Respond to requests on student financial status and control access to information according to the school's policies. Maintain and develop the Student Information System (SIS) functionality –play a key role in the future SIS migration project.

    People Management:

    Manage the performance of the collaborators within the department on an ongoing basis; ensure performance reviews are conducted against agreed goals and competencies. Manage the identification of the training and developmental priorities for the department to ensure that all collaborators are adequately skilled to perform their roles and responsibilities, and coach and mentor subordinates.
