- Conducts tests to determine ifwork has been done in accordance with contract specifications andmay include any of the following: Performs civil and structuraltests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation,graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression,lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concretecoring.
- Performs destructive and nondestructivetests on metals and other materials through magnaflex,dyepenetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paintthickness, and resistivity.
- Performssurveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding,and grade.
- Inspects and monitors pilinginstallation to ensure location andbearing.
- Validates piping systems, includingP&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressuretests.
- Inspects electrical installations toensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence tostatutory and customer regulations.
- Performscontinuing inspection of painting and insulation to ensurethickness and coverage continuity.
- Providesgeneral inspection on all construction labor and subcontractedtasks to ensure professionalworkmanship.
- Verifies equipment alignment andbalancing operations. Participates in the development of qualitycontrol reports and procedures
- Participates inthe development of job safety practices and in the preparation ofsafety reports.
- May administer welderqualification tests.
- Performs otherresponsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate.
