    Description

    • Establish priorities of care, nursing actions and desired outcomes in a timely manner.
    • Demonstrate good communication skills, interacts effectively with patients, visitors and staff. Ensures annual competencies are current.
    • Keeps own knowledge/skills current. Monitors and ensures appropriate education of staff in the department.
    • Attends meetings and trainings pertinent to the department of nursing.
    • Follows and develops CMC policies and procedures according to current best evidence in collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams.
    • Reports unsafe practice Nursing Manager and Infection Control Link Nurse.
    • Conducts ongoing assessments of the clinical environment to ensure appropriate compliance with safety practices.
    • Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Assists in performing competencies and annual appraisal for nursing, healthcare attendants and medical assistant staff.
    • Documents patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention.
    • Initiates own and staff competence and assists in emergency resuscitative measures as required.
    • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, staff and CMC facility.
    • Organizes care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient's and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
    • Follows policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance with the policies and procedures of the Organization.
    • Maintains equipment and supplies at the best level to make sure cost effective and cost efficient care. Works with the Biomedical, Facilities and OSHMS to maintain a safe environment
    • To work as a team, working on specific locations must be done by pairs, ensuring that every working staff is caring for their own safety.
    • In any event or incident, the Registered nurse is responsible for proper communication channels, notifying supervisors on duty and or safety representative first on line.
    To counsel other employees, particularly new employees and young people, of particular known hazards.
