- Identify key consumer trends inonline grocery /Q-commerce business
- Work withthe Head of Commercial on defining an actionable strategy forCategory Management (assortment, category hierarchy, pricing andpromotions) based on Careem Grocery commercial strategy andguidelines
- Strive to continuously update andmaintain assortment strategies to reflect market trends, localneeds and preferences based on data-drivenanalysis
- Ensure that we have an updatedassortment based on the Commercial teamrecommendations
- Work with the BD team to buyand manage assortment by sourcing the best items and brandspossible in order to provide the best experience for ourcustomers
- Work across categories, withdifferent internal category stakeholders, including food &non food products
- Collaborate with variousfunctions including commercial, supply chain and store operationsteams
- Help to create smooth logisticalrelationships with Supply Chain and Suppliers
- At least 4+ years of experience inthe Food or FMCG retail sector in Buying or Category Management .Time spent in tech or a start-up is a plus
- Astrong understanding of the Middle East grocery/conveniencemarket/hypermarket/supermarket and a willingness to disrupt the wayit currently operates
- Experience negotiatingwith business development partners, FMCG or brand owners. You willbe proactively reaching out to brands to build apartnership.
- You are an excellent communicatorwith strong influencing skills and stellar stakeholder management– You can easily explain complex concepts to people ofany level
- Grittiness. You never hesitate toroll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you perseverewhen others fall away
