    Job Description

    AECOM are currently seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our team in either our Dubai or Abu Dhabi office. The successful candidate will monitor project performance through application of advanced project control methodologies and drive compliance and mentor junior team members.

    Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates solid knowledge and understanding of project management, project planning, progress measurement and reporting, EV methodologies, cost estimating and cost control principles.
  • Efficiently presents and communicates financial information to Senior Management.
  • Drives compliance to AECOM internal policies and procedures.
  • Provides training and support to junior members of the Project Controls and Planning Team.
  • Works closely with the Project Management team and interfaces with various disciplines.
  • Conducts project controls activities on big and mega projects.
  • Monitors the financial performance of the practice line projects and pro-actively identifies and reports financial risks and opportunities.
  • Develops the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and baseline budgets, in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Collects progress data and performs Earned Value Analysis.
  • Collects actual costs and analyzes performance against baseline budgets.
  • Prepares weekly progress and performance tracking reports.
  • Investigates variances from the baseline and analyzes performance trends.
  • Establishes project cost projections based on deployments provided by involved disciplines.
  • Supports the Project Manager with preparation of Intercompany Agreements.
  • Supports the Project Manager with preparation of internal forms in relation to change management processes in place.
  • Provides project performance data for project audit reviews purposes.
  • Maintains records of the project financial files in line with the company's established templates.
  • Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8+ years' experience in Project Controls field is required.
  • Experience in the engineering consultancy industry is mandatory.
  • In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Hands on working knowledge of project controls methodologies.
  • Hands on working knowledge of scheduling concepts and methodologies.
  • Change management fundamentals.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, procedures and terminology.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • People Management and cross-functional communication skills.
