**Description: - About the Restaurant

  • The restaurant borrows from the great barbeque traditions of the past to create their own style. They bring together the best of all great BBQ techniques to create something uniquely its own. The process begins with the best, allnatural meats and poultry, seasoned with perfect spice blends and then smoked with wood for many, many hours until the perfect harmony of smoke, flavor and time emerges. Their food is steeped in tradition but given new life.
  • Summary of the position
  • The head Chef of MQ will be directly responsible for the different streams of the business: the smoking and bbq, the restaurant and eventually the catering business.
  • The head chef is the spokesperson of the restaurant and represents its quality, franchise and concept. Giving interviews, bbq classes or recommending dishes comes naturally.
  • The head chef will work closely together with the Chef chefs and kitchen staff and needs to have extensive knowledge about meats.
  • Having any experience with social media and starring in cooking movies and classes is a preference.
  • Being the head chef comes with the responsibility of managing multiple concept styles at once. Responsibilities include food purchasing, food cost control, recipe building, managing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards and liasing with parent franchise. In addition to this the head chef is in charge of training all kitchen employees.
  • Specific requirements include the capability to deal with CPU and other units in terms of efficiency and menu design. Being uptodate of current health trends, nutrition and foods is a must. Creative and signature dishes come with the job, as is stock control and mineralization of wastage.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • 57 years
- experience in smoking and bbq of meat
