Role Overview

An Associate will demonstrate solid and well-rounded communication skills, such as writing, media placement and client relationships.

You will have a basic understanding of the role of digital and will be starting to gain experience across implementation of digital strategy, including community management and content production.

An Associate will also be developing an understanding of market trends and issues as they affect client business.

SMART Working Practices

  • Time management prioritising your own workload to ensure you meet deadlines and objectives set by account managers and directors for each client within the time allocated and reporting to team members on progress. You will be given precise hours per month for each account that you work on


  • Timesheet Management

  • Ensure that your timesheets are completed on a timely basis and inline with contractual requires
  • Working to activity plans attending status meetings to ensure you understand client objectives and deadlines. Planning own work and meets all commitments against activity plans
Team Working

  • Working within a team ensuring team involvement and communication at all times
  • Motivation demonstrating energy and enthusiasm to ongoing workload and projects. Your commitment and loyalty to the company will be unquestionable. Your motivation to work well in a team environment will be demonstrated through your strong communication style with fellow colleagues
  • Briefing/informing the team taking briefs from client and communicating goals, guidelines, and deadlines to team
  • Communicating with supervisors to ensure they are updated on work in progress and briefed when having difficulty achieving required results. You are also keen to listen to other members of the team and value their input on client related issues
  • Ability to audit social media channels and provide a first draft point of view and manage communities
  • Support teams in the creation of ideas and delivery of content e.g. infographics
Client Relations

  • Client management building solid relationships with assigned client contacts. Demonstrate a proactive stance with all assigned accounts by offering new ideas and new ways of generating success, including identifying digital opportunities. Provide tactical counsel to all clients. Ensure that you make yourself available to the client and build strong liaisons with them
  • Market knowledge actively working to create a good knowledge of current developments and trends affecting the clients' industries and markets
  • Analysing problems anticipating and identifying problems relating to client work. Preempts issues that may arise and prepare to action appropriately

  • Writing an Associate will have the ability to write in a range of styles including news releases, case studies, status reports, articles and proposals
  • Media liaison dealing with day to day enquiries; acting professionally when meeting the press at exhibitions and client events; establishing and building relationships; ensuring copy is prepared, approved and submitted in line with deadlines; researching and writing copy for features; writing and following up photocall notices; closing the loop with all press opportunities
  • Media pitching with a proactive style to developing your media liaisons, including a thorough approach to making calls and understanding the clients, products, services, and values, you will confidently "sell in" material across a broad range of media finding new story angles where possible
  • Key Contacts you will be expected to develop third party contacts which are relevant to your sector and or role. For example, suppliers, government relations, media and financial analysts and expert opinion leaders
  • Quality standards producing high standard of work at all times, paying attention to detail and removing the possibility of careless errors. The Associate will also work to maintain all company quality standards continually looking for areas of improvement
  • Presentation skills learning basic to intermediate presentation skills and taking an active role in presentations wherever possible
  • Ability to research across a clients digital footprint e.g. websites, social media, google results and provide a 1st pass point of view
  • Ability to understand SEO and identify content which is not optimized for search
Knowledge and Skills

  • Digital channels have knowledge of the role of social media channels in PR and how to best utilise each channel to the clients benefit
  • Understands why digital content is key to PR strategies and how it drives reach
  • Client market understanding maintaining a high understanding of client's business, new developments in the market/industry sector and use them to the client's adv
