    JOB PURPOSE:

    Lead the local and International regulatory landscape for Global Markets and Group Treasury implementing these regulations if applicable within the UAE as best practice and future proofing.

    The role holder will put in place; governance, frameworks, systems, and controls to support the VP, Head of Compliance - Global Markets and Group Treasury (GM & GT) in executing his obligations when it comes to local & international regulations and best practices.

    This is a global role, so the jobholder will be responsible for collaborating with Country Compliance to provide advice, assistance and support to GM, GF and GT should they be in international locations.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Provide support, advice and assistance to GM, GF and GT business lines when it comes to local and international regulations and best practices including but not limited to CBAUE, SCA, DFSA, FSRA, MiFID, Dodd Frank, Market Abuse Regulation, Benchmark Regulation, MAS, CFTC, SEC, HKMA etc.
  • Provide support and assistance to Global Markets compliance officers in implementing local regulations as well as implementation of Group Compliance Policies and procedures pertaining to Global Markets Activities.
  • Contribute to the Compliance Risk Assessment for GM, GF and GT and support international compliance officers as and when needed.
  • Ensure extraterritorial compliance risks are captured and remediation methodologies applied.
  • Coordinate the delivery of appropriate training for relevant GM, GF and GT staff both locally and internationally where applicable.
  • Contribute to (regulatory) projects related to GM, GF and GT pertaining to international regulations and track them with project owners to completion.
  • Collaborate and synergize across Compliance. At a minimum, ensure there is on-going partnership and information feedback loops in place with; CCB and IB Compliance colleagues, Regulatory Compliance, MAG, International Compliance and FCC so that risks are captured, and assistance is in place where needed to help them execute against their mandate.
  • Execute other duties as directed by the Head of Compliance - Global Markets and Group Treasury (GM & GT)
  • Oversee all aspects in relation to Cross Border trade and transaction activity
  • Advise and support core topics impacting the UAE for GM and GT
  • Execute against core BAU as directed by the Head of GMGT Compliance
  • Conduct Compliance Monitoring Reviews as per annual compliance plan and on an ad-hoc basis as and when necessary.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualification

  • Educated to a degree standard in management, Law, business, banking, finance, preferably with a certification in compliance
  • Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • A minimum of 7 years of compliance experience covering public side activities.
  • Excellent understanding of regional and international laws and regulations pertaining to Global Markets, Group Funding and Group Treasury
  • Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills with good leadership skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage a challenging workload.
  • Focused on driving tasks to completion, whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
