The Charge nurse is responsible for theoverall daily operations and smooth and efficient patient flowwithin the clinical area. The Charge nurse coordinates dailyadministrative duties, including schedules, assignments and patientcare.

The Charge nurse carries out their duties by adhering to thehighest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the bestinterest of the patient, and fully supports the mission, vision,and values of SSMC.

The Charge nurse shall have the knowledge ofhealth care systems, demonstrate the ability to interact, relateto/ work with, and support the activities of a diversemultidisciplinary workforce.

They also acts as the clinicalresource person in their work unit and ensures that the staffdelivers care professionally.

The Charge Nurse delegatesassignments and provides supervision for the support staff inaccordance with their level of training and the patient'sacuity.
