    American University of Sharjah invitesapplications for an Assistant Professor (or Higher Rank) facultyposition of Scenic and Lighting Design to join a small but growingPerforming Arts Program in Fall 2024.

    This person will serve asScenic and Lighting Designer for two annual main stage productions,will teach a 3-3 load as part of the core liberal arts education,and will serve on committees as requested.

    Additionally, thisindividual will maintain the scene shop and equipment and willoversee the successful construction of sets and execution oflighting designs with the assistance of the program'sTechnical Director.

    We are especially interested in candidates whoare dedicated to teaching undergraduates in a liberal artsenvironment, committed to working with ethnically and culturallydiverse faculty and students from across the globe, and who willthrive in a small, ambitious collegiate setting.

    A terminal degreein theatre is required (MFA preferred). Proficiency in programmingETC lighting boards and working with moving LED lights isessential. Professional design experience is a plus.
