    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead a team of successful Motor Underwritersand drive performance and engagement within the team.
    • Communicate and implement operational strategies for theunderwriting Service Delivery team.
    • Study therisk; analyze the data collecting information to proceed for riskacceptance and rejection.
    • Underwrite complexrisks in accordance with defined limits of authority or classauthority organizational policy and underwritingstandards.
    • Portfolio analysis.
    • Product Designing and Pricing.
    • Exercise proper underwriting pricing and discipline tomeet profitability goals.
    • Car retentionstrategies.
    • Conduct an analytical review andcapitalize on market opportunities by responding totenders.
    • Negotiate policy terms and rates withclients and/or consultants and/or brokers.
    • Ensure all personal accreditation levels and compliancerequirements are adhered to.
    • Ensure theUnderwriting Team has adequate accreditation to service theirintermediaries.
    • Establish and maintainrelationships and lines of communication with internal and externalstakeholders.
    • Provide regularreports.

    The SuccessfulApplicant

    • At least 5years of experience in Insurance Industry and minimum 3 years ofmanagerial experience.
    • Holder of insurancecertificates (i.e. ACII or CII)
    • Provenleadership experience ideally within the motor sector
    • Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions forspecific class/portfolio
    • Experience inidentifying and building profitable schemes creating and developingnew products
    • Strong written verbalcommunication and negotiation skills.
    • Strongclient facing/presentation skills.
    • Strongproject management and reporting experience.
    • Ability to multitask and manage to multiple performancemetrics.
    • Ability to keep a proactive pulse onthe business and provide quick response as required.
    • Able to make quick decisions good judgement andanalytical skills.
    • Creative
