    Job Purpose:

    The Academic and Community Engagement Unit Head manages and coordinates all activities linked to engaging various audience segments with educational and cultural activities and programs. The role holder will manage, organise and disseminate information about the Company Museum exhibitions, interpretation and education activities for a variety of audiences, staff, contractors and volunteers.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Working with the Education and Learning Resources Manager, the role holder will prepare the short- and medium-term plans for the unit and assist in establishing methods, policies and procedures for implementing programmes in alignment with the strategic vision, mission and goals.
    • Manage and prepare a variety project for Education and Learning Resources department activities.
    • The role hole will facilitate and coordinate the training required for the team of volunteers and guides (usually two to three times a year) and ensure junior staff within the unit are well versed.
    • Creates opportunities and reports on the same for department activities, including roadshows, for schools, universities, People of Determination, hard to reach communities, the academic community, creative community, families and volunteers (amongst others). Prepares progress and status reports by analysing and summarizing the information, trends and forecasts of visits.
    • Contributes to departmental plans which project funding, feasibility, staffing, and related constraints of the department ensuring the availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the needs (in coordination with HR Department).
    • Responsible to link the museum and its programs (exhibitions, cultural and education programs) to the diverse audiences with the aim to make the museum a place for many communities and is the pivotal point of contact with for the Emirati community, ensuring local content and context is well represented.
    • Key point of contact for organizing school, university and community-based roadshow and locally based artists for different museum programs and initiatives and a representative at department meetings and official events.
    • Develops and leads academic and community events in and outside the museum.
    • Assists other departments in the museum in regards to attracting new and returning audiences.
    • Ensures operational excellence in achieving KPI s, working towards establishing a sustainable financial model by achieving any set financial targets and driving internal process improvement and efficiency and, ensuring the offering of attractive products or tools that lead this enablement.
    • As a brand ambassador the role holder will consider the customer prospective in all your projects - working to understand and manage all stakeholders.
    • As a leader, the role holder will create learning opportunities by collaboration, transfer of knowledge, or developing employees in their respective area, that drive employee engagement and growth across the Museum.


    Requirements

    Bachelor s Degree in Museum Education, Art Education, Art History, History, and Museology

    (Preferred Masters (in above)

    7 years+ post graduate experience in running audience development programmes in a museum or cultural setting

    Experience of budget and project management

    Experience in similar position in educational learning

    Knowledge of current practice in audience development and museum education

    Fluency in Arabic and English

    Experience of budget and project management.
