Lead and control the Chemistry activities in the assigned area (Primary Water, Secondary Water, Water Treatment and Oil) throughout the planning, execution and post close-out phases of Chemistry operations and the preparation of the Chemistry operations shift schedule for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved.

cleaning operation of Chlorination System to ensure safe operations.

  • Manage the seawater chlorine injection rate by checking residual chlorine to ensure safe operations.

Activity:
Diesel Fuel Oil and Lubricating Oil Management

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of oil analysis procedures to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Manage Diesel Fuel Oil Testing Program and Periodic Surveillance Test for fuel oil and lubricant to ensure safe operations.
  • Evaluate data for fuel and lubricating oils to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Maintain and control the lube oil laboratory and analysis instruments to ensure alignment with standards.
Establish special oil analysis plan for the third-party oil laboratory to ensure alignment with standards.

Activity:
Laboratory Management and Control

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Conduct oversight laboratory Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities to ensure operational excellence.
  • Lead the check of laboratory facilities to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Lead the execution of check maintenance of analysis instruments in normal operation state to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Lead the execution of check maintenance of chemical reagents and analytical standards to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Validate the accuracy and reliability of each laboratory analytical instruments to ensure accurate readings.
Lead the implementation of procedures and manuals for analytical instruments to ensure alignment with standards.

Staff Training and Qualification

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Monitor, coach and review the performance of individual staff to develop necessary training and improve performance.
  • Ensure training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills to ensure effective training.

  • Prepare and consolidate the Section's budget and monitor financial performance during the year.

  • Provide input into the development of the Department's systems and processes, as well develop, and implement the Section's procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
  • Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section's requirements and standards.

  • Control and manage primary chemical facilities, sampling system, chemical injection system, chemicals and resins storage states to ensure proper operation.
  • Oversee the addition of chemicals to the primary system and primary closed cooling water system to ensure proper operation.
  • Oversee and evaluate analysis of chemical parameters and radionuclides to align with procedures and necessities for primary systems.
  • Evaluate primary water system materials, fuel, and radioisotopes behavior with analysis data to ensure system integrity.
  • Lead the implementation of the primary system radiochemistry program, policy, and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
  • Develop and conduct the normal operation, shutdown, and startup chemistry for primary systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Manage and evaluate periodic performance of primary system demineralizers to ensure performance is within standards.
